State of the rink scheduled for July 14th
Huntsville, AL- The Benton H. Wilcoxon Municipal Ice Complex will hold a State of the Rink address on July 14th at 6:30PM in the rink lobby and all Ice Complex patrons are invited.
The address, which will feature presentations by rink management, City of Huntsville Administrator John Hamilton, and ice complex parents, is being held to educate our user groups about the status of Capital Improvement Fundraising Campaign and the upcoming expansion.
All users, including hockey families, figure skating families, and recreational users are welcome to attend the State of the Rink and are encouraged to bring their questions.
The Ice Complex is currently raising money for an expansion that will feature new restrooms, locker rooms, and multi-purpose training rooms. The Ice Complex is attempting to raise $400,000 to go along with the funds being contributed by the City of Huntsville.
The Ice Complex opened in 1991 and this expansion will be the first for the aging facility. The goal is to be able to lure in larger tournaments and competitions, bringing increased revenue to the city and increased exposure for the skaters.
Donations made to Friends of Recreational Ice Activities are tax deductible and can be made by mailing a check to 3185 Leeman Ferry Rd Huntsville, AL 35801 or by clicking here. For more information about the State of the Rink address call the Huntsville Ice Complex at 256-883-3773.
